First Blog

Hello,
I thought I would start a blog and see what all the hype is about. Now that I am though, I can't really think of anything exciting to say.
I went in for my 15 week appointment yesterday and everything was just fine and I am so excited to find out if we are having a boy or girl in just four weeks!
It looks like there is a pretty strong chance that Adam might be going to Iraq in May. We are still fighting it, but the military just doesn't realy care what reasons soldiers might have for needing to stay home. This is such an unfair situation for Adam. He has worked so hard on his school and it has taken him so long because of his mission and last deployment to Iraq. He would finally be done by the end of summer, but if he has to go, he will be set back another few years. He has had it really tough and I am proud of him for not losing steam so far.
If he has to go, it will also be a hard situation for us as a family. Our baby is due in the middle of August and Adam will be gone for half the pregnancy and more than half of the child's first year. He will only be able to come home for two weeks when the baby is born. I am grateful that we at least get that to look forward to.
This has been a hard few months trying to figure out if he is going or not and what we can do to fight it. Both Adam and I have lost focus on school this term. There are just so many more important issues to deal with right now.
I do know that we can get through whatever we will have to face and I will try to see the rewards and blessings of our trials.

  1. Hi Kelsey!
Now you're a blogger! I'm really excited to come home and see you all fat and pregnant, and I really can't wait to see if it's a boy or girl.
I know that these past months have been really tough for you guys and I hope that you are taking a lot of time off to spend together.
I love you, and will see you in a short month!
